Hi, I’m Christy Gentry board member with PMG North Bay and I’m here to give you a One-Minute Marketing Tip on why your brand is important.

The importance of your brand reputation is that’s accessible and available and visible across all the channels out there. Technology has made the world a smaller place and how you are presenting yourself whether it via text, voice, video. This is communicating your brand reputation.

You’re giving the world a perception of who you are and what your values are as an organization or an individual. People that you want to do business with are like minded in the context or enjoy whatever experience that they’re getting beyond the actual product. This is really goes beyond the barrier of the brand itself.

What’s important to remember is that if you’re not attracting the right customer, if you want to attract more of a certain customer, is really making sure that your inside perception of your brand matches the outside perception of your brand.

A great way to check in with your community to see if their brand perception is what you’d like it to be. Visit your social media channels. Look and see what people are saying about you on Yelp. What are your customers saying about you? If you want it to be different, a great way to do this is to look at as an opportunity to engage with your audience via e-mail or a survey. And ask them questions about how they perceive you or what they’d like to see different. And that will help you breach the barrier of what you want to be versus how people see you.
