with David Comfort, Founder & Website Developer at Sleepless Digital
Thursday, May 18th, from 12:00 – 1:30 at coLAB – 427 Mendocino Ave Suite 100, Santa Rosa, CA.
Over 61 million U.S. adults are currently living with a disability – ranging from hearing and vision impairment to cognitive difficulties and difficulty lifting or grasping (according to ddiy.co). These impairments can negatively affect a person’s ability to access the internet through a computer or smartphone. Since the first web accessibility guideline was compiled in 1995, the complexities and legalities surround the topic have grown immensely.
Join PMG, in our first in-person Lunch & Learn since 2019, as we learn about web accessibility guidelines and laws with Board Member and Web Developer, David Comfort.
This Lunch and Learn will focus on Website Accessibility, also know as ADA Title III, WCAG 2.1, EN 301549 and Section 508. We will review the basics of web accessibility and ADA compliance, offering a better understanding of the current climate from a technical and legal perspective as well as some currently available solutions, features, and future changes. Leave with a better understanding of how to find accessibility violations, and the steps to take to fix them.

Founder & Website Developer at Sleepless Digital
David has been a marketing professional since 1995 when he helped a small company in L.A. go public. That initial foray into desktop publishing transitioned into being a 3D Animator and VFX Artist with Look!FX. Just before the millennium, he opened Sleepless Digital, to directly work with businesses in their marketing development.
In 2003, David moved to Santa Rosa and has helped launch companies from the ground up with their marketing and product materials. His focus for the last few years has been on website development where he emphasizes Brand Infusion and Consistency along with a focus on the User Experience.
David still learns something new on every project, an element that has kept him truly enjoying his work all of these years.
