As professional marketers, we typically focus on communicating with the world outside of our office walls. However, when it comes to launching a new idea, the first person we have to convince is right around the corner. Our boss can be our greatest champion or our biggest foe — either way, he/she is crucial to our growth and success.

This program will focus on strategies for improving communication and maximizing influence. The program will kick off with the results from our “undercover boss” project, in which we approached CEOs, owners, and high-level managers with our burning questions. We’ll get feedback on pitching ideas, providing critique, and overcoming roadblocks — straight from the source.

Then we’ll hear from a mix of our peers and outside expertise on effective communication and influencing skills. We’ll focus on best practices, with a cautionary tale or two thrown in for good measure. You’ll leave the program with strategies and suggestions for getting your thoughts heard and turning your marketing ideas into action.
